What could you notice?

Which objects you use and value, and which remain because of guilt, past expense or an uncertain “just in case”. You may also notice how duplicates, unfinished projects or things without a home make a space harder to use.

How to use it

Choose one clearly bounded area, such as a drawer, shelf or desk. Set aside a short session of 15–30 minutes.

Use the guide’s questions to consider each item’s current function, unique value, replacement difficulty and place in your home.

For genuinely uncertain items, use a labelled “perhaps” box with a review date. Decide where the things you remove will go.

Finish by choosing one small action that will help keep the area usable.

YOUR NEXT SMALL SHIFT

Look for a pattern.
Choose one experiment.

Clear one small area with a specific purpose in mind: finding paperwork, preparing breakfast or getting dressed more easily. Complete the exit route for the items you remove, then notice whether the space works better.
